John has over forty (40) years experience in the commercial real estate business, with a focus on real estate finance and development. Starting as a mortgage analyst for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Associates, John developed expertise in the mortgage banking industry by attaining progressively responsible positions with Dailey Mortgage Corp., Citibank, and Cassidy, Jaeger & Pinkard.
After a succession of entrepreneurial pursuits, John purchased DANAC Corporation in 1985, which he is the Chairman. DANAC develops, owns, and manages residential, retail, office and distribution properties, primarily in the Washington, D.C. market with Boston, Florida, and Texas locations also.
John is a graduate of Gettysburg College with a Business Administration degree and is a licensed real estate broker in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He is a Life Trustee of Gettysburg College and active in the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which supports wounded soldiers. He resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife Dr. Karen Ivers.
