EI Discussions provide opportunities for thought leaders, students, community members, policymakers, and others to come together to discuss the important issues of today.
See the calendar of scheduled events.
Every year the Institute’s undergraduate programs host speakers and events around specific themes and topics. As just one example, in 2016-17 the Undergraduate Fellows focused on the study of refugee policy, hosting a series of discussions that brought a wide range of speakers to campus. Past areas of focus have included space policy, national intelligence, and a host of other current issues.
A campus-wide policy debate provides student representatives from various political parties to express their views on a variety of topics. The purpose of the debate is to foster constructive dialogue that encourages students to become engaged citizens, educate the campus on political views across the spectrum, provide an opportunity to compare and contrast political views of different campus organizations, and to promote ongoing conversation.
