Jared McCully

Jared McCully EIUF HeadshotJared McCully ‘19 is a scholarship Cadet in the U.S. Army ROTC Blue Mountain Battalion at Gettysburg College. During the summer of 2018, Jared completed his Cadet Advanced Training at Fort Knox and was later attached to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg as part of the Cadet Troop Leadership Training. Besides training, Jared has had the opportunity to serve as the Cadet Liaison at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA.

During his time at Gettysburg College, Jared was able to study abroad in Berlin, Germany where he interned for Validfill and Coca-Cola as a Market Research Analyst for European Amusement Parks and Attractions.

Jared works full-time in the summer for his family’s business in Northeast Ohio, Sluggers & Putters Amusement Park. He is the Vice President of Operations, where he is responsible for supervising, training, and maintaining a staff of over 90 employees.

Jared is a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and worked for fellow Gettysburg & Lambda alumnus Congressman Ron Paul at Young Americans for Liberty during the spring of 2016. Jared has been an office assistant at the Eisenhower Institute and enjoys being a Spin Class instructor at the Jaeger Center. From 2015-2017, Jared played as a kicker for the Gettysburg College football team.

Participating in Eisenhower Institute programs even prior to his admission into Gettysburg College,  Jared attended the inaugural Campaign and Elections Academy lead by Professor Howard Ernst. He then had the opportunity to participate in the Inside Politics program by Kasey Pipes, and traveled to Baku, Azerbaijan with Susan Eisenhower as part of the Strategy and Leadership in Transformational Times program.

Upon graduation, Jared will be commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, with aspirations to attend graduate school and serving on Active Duty. Whether he makes a career out of the military is yet to be determined, but he is certain he wants to be always conducting public service in some capacity.
